Giada and Serena are thirty-seven and forty years old, respectively. They met in 2010 and married in 2020. During these years, they also became mothers of three children, the first born in 2013 through heterologous fertilization. Since the birth of their first children, Giada and Serena began an intense activity of raising awareness and information about the reality of their family, answering the many questions that people around them were asking. They started a social project, “Duemammetrefigli,” which today has a community of nearly half a million users between Instagram and TikTok. “Through direct experience we show those who follow us how important it is to put our faces to make it clear that we exist: we are not aliens, we are the same as everyone else.” This is the credo and message of Giada and Serena and their first book. Twenty-six chapters written mainly in Giada’s voice, while Serena also created the vignettes you will see in the volume, “to give the reader a cleaner picture of the story, and also more ironic.” Irony, along with lightness, is the key to this unprecedented family lexicon.
