Drag Show

Based on the books *Quasi un secolo – vita di Lucy Salani* (Pistoia Documentation Centre, 2025) and *Io, la Romanina* (Le plurali, 2025), *Lipsinc Her drag name because is precius* tells the stories of three people who, in different eras and contexts, have fought to assert their gender identity, have their work recognised and secure the right to live their lives to the full.

At the heart of the show are Lucy Salani, Romina Cecconi and Countess Sonata Mondscheinová (Ota Tasinato), three extraordinary figures who share the ability to transform their lives into a form of resistance, freedom and self-affirmation.

Lucy Salani was one of the most prominent Italian transgender people to speak publicly about her story. A survivor of the Dachau concentration camp, she lived through almost a century of Italian history, courageously defending her identity and her right to be herself.

Romina Cecconi, known as ‘la Romanina’, was one of the most famous Italian transgender women of the 20th century. An artist and performer, she took the stage by storm with her personality, facing discrimination and prejudice and turning her life into a declaration of freedom.

Countess Sonata Mondscheinová, the stage name of Ota Tasinato, is a unique and visionary figure associated with the world of entertainment and performance. Through the character of the Countess, she has forged an unconventional artistic identity, turning art and transformation into a space of freedom.

On stage, La Trave Nell’Okkio (Antonello Foddis) and Martin Talaga explore these three life stories, weaving together memory, the body, words and performance.

*Lipsinc Her drag name because is precius* is a tale of battles won and battles yet to be fought. It is the story of people who have chosen not to give up their identity, even when the world around them demanded that they hide it, deny it or change it.

Three stories in which gender identity is expressed through art, history, struggle and the will to live.

Three different lives, three ways of being in the world, three stories that have come down to us to remind us that winning the freedom to be oneself can become a profoundly political act and, above all, an example for future generations.

Three stories in which gender identity is expressed through art, history, struggle and the will to live.
