The news is the kind that calls for a special toast. On a terrace nestled in the Supramonte, in one of Sardinia’s most enchanting hotels, Vice Detective Vito Strega is celebrating the birth of the new serial crimes investigation unit. With him are the inseparable inspectors Eva Croce and Mara Rais. Everything finally seems to be going their way. But a phone call brings them back to reality, and the three must say goodbye to the clear skies and sunshine of the island. In the marshy lands of the Ticino Park, the body of a girl has been found. When Inspector Clara Pontecorvo arrives on the scene, she can hardly believe her eyes: the victim has her hands tied behind her back and is wearing a bovine mask. That’s all that was missing for Clara, who already has a big problem: she’s 6’9″ tall and can never find clothes that fit her. Least of all a man. Instinct tells her that that crime scene could be a replay of another crime that happened years earlier in Sardinia. And no one, better than Strega, Rais and Croce, knows that case, which still hovers in their lives like an obsession. Now on the loose is a copycat, who wants the spotlight on himself…. The cops will have to be more united than ever, and Vito Strega, for the first time so vulnerable, will come to terms with his own past. (Source IBS.co.uk)
