Biography
A young soccer promise of the Toulouse Football Club; teammate of Kévin Constant and Moussa Sissoko; Ouissem Belgacem climbed the ranks to play in the African Cup of Nations under the colors of Tunisia. But his homosexuality, contrary to his religion and his sport, deprived him of the professional career for which he was destined. In an environment like soccer, where homophobia and machismo are still entrenched, the Tunisian-born former French soccer player tells of his broken dream. This book is what no one has ever dared to write. In a story that is as intimate as it is powerful, Ouissem Belgacem is the first player to tell from the inside the homophobia that plagues soccer and to confront one of the last taboos of our society.
