Contemporary fiction
Blu is a very young poet who loves the night and all its nuances. He is not like other children. According to his nanny, he was born from the sky, the place from which he came. He was found by an elderly woman he calls his grandmother, among the branches of a very special cherry tree. The place where Blu lives has an atmosphere suspended between the past and the future: it is an imaginary city, immersed in a world where the objects of our present seem like extraordinary antiques. Blu grows up in a shanty town, far from the town centre. He possesses a genius that will lead him to learn to read and write on his own, and a talent – for poetry – which is his only real asset. Left alone after the death of his beloved grandmother/nanny, he earns a living by writing and selling poems in the city. In the town’s largest square, he first meets Veruno, an ambiguous and enigmatic magician, and then his first true love: Elios, his sunny counterpart.
