The Rainbook festival presents:

The skinless princess

Of

Lorenzo Piccolo

Prince Day regulates the light over all the earth, but since he has been ill, mysterious spots have appeared in the sky, and war has spread everywhere. During a moonlit night, Belinda, Teresa and Constance meet in the thick of a forest, not knowing how they got there. They could not be more different, in age and character, yet they must team up and journey together through the forest, fraught with danger and enemies, to bring medicine to Prince Day. Each has a story to tell-a story about transformations, monsters, girls meeting monsters, and girls becoming monsters. During this dark journey, they will discover that shadows are part of us and that a story can sometimes save your life.

About the Author...

Lorenzo Piccolo, born in 1981, is an author, actor and theatre performer. He is known to the public as a member of the Nina’s Drag Queens company, a collective of actors and dancers who combine theatre and drag art in shows that reinterpret great classics in a contemporary and queer key.

As a writer, he made his debut with the children’s novel La principessa senza pelle (The Princess Without Skin, published by Pelledoca), a fairy tale that delicately addresses the themes of illness, war and the search for one’s place in the world. His artistic activity ranges from writing to the stage, pursuing research that intertwines narration, identity and performance. He is also an audiobook narrator.
