I am afraid of nuns

The gazelle Gabriella, the princess Clotilde, the drug-dealing Fairy Godmother, the jester Gaius, Eugene Della Lampada, the commissar Porcellina Sissi, are just a few of the absurd characters that animate the surreal world of this book: a collection of fairy tales for adults affected by VAT numbers, dating apps, WhatsApp groups, reflux and other discomforts. A string of hilarious stories that put together almost resemble a generational pulp novel. With their comedy made up of lightning jokes, grotesque scenes and irreverent considerations, Edoardo Zaggia and Alberto Sacco whip the reader into an electric vortex that, while making us snicker, reveals the idiosyncrasies from which we traumatized by life are all affected. This book, in fact, is nothing less than a surreal, intelligent and hilarious glimpse into the exhausted world that surrounds us and of which we are the prime movers. A world that makes any of its manifestations neurotic: from relationships to (underpaid) work, from paying taxes to what we like to eat, wear or even say. (Source: Ibs.co.uk)
