Against a comic and surreal backdrop-which sees the story of Dr. Schiaffazzi told, from conception to acquaintance with her greatest teacher-are embedded her pearls of wisdom that, with generosity and extremely professional (and not infrequently embarrassing) flair, allow readers to navigate their way through the roiling world of sex and romance. About which, it is known, there is always something to learn. The Doctor’s mission is to break down taboos with grace and biting irony, popularizing the techniques of what she has dubbed, precisely, Presto Coupling. With the Schiaffasutra, she proposes a novel overview of mating positions: from the Circo Togni to the Ride of the Valkyries, from the Pinball machine to the Clothesline (positions all experimented with the help of a cyborg named Perlo because her husband, Professor Erasmo Canazza, is missing in Botswana, or so it seems). In her Slap-therapy sessions she offers dispassionate advice on love life, often without demeanor or spin: the truth hurts, but someone has to tell us. And so between Bon Bon Bla Bla, Wooden Sciu Sciu, Boccal Massages, VIP Zones, Awkward Dances and Frizzantelli Moments, one finds oneself immersed in the essence of Dr. Schiaffazzi and comes out undeniably less bigoted and more dumbfounded, but certainly enriched. And much happier and more fulfilled.
